This installation flow is designed to reduce the most common source of problems: changing too many parts of a modded profile at once.
1. Back up the important data
Copy important worlds and, if you rely on custom settings, save the relevant configuration folder too.
Keep the profile name obvious
A clear instance name helps prevent editing one mods folder while launching another profile.
2. Confirm the game and loader target
Write down the exact Minecraft version and the Fabric profile you intend to launch. Keep different game branches in different instances.
3. Prepare the required dependencies
Install only the supporting files required by the selected release. When a dependency is missing, the loader may stop before reaching the title screen.
4. Add the mod file
Place the version-matched mod file in the mods folder belonging to the same profile you launch. A surprisingly common mistake is editing one instance while launching another.
5. Test in a fresh world
Reach the title screen, create a temporary world and verify loading before opening your main save.
